Industrial Photography: Inside Forlabels (Schimatari, Viotia)
I recently spent a couple of days at Forlabels, one of the most prominent factories in Greece when it comes to product labeling and packaging. Located in Schimatari, Viotia, this facility is a hub of activity, producing labels for everything from food and soft drinks to pharmaceuticals and alcoholic beverages for clients both here and abroad.
My goal for this industrial photography project was to capture the full scope of the operation. Over a two-day stint, I documented everything from corporate portraits of the board members and the CEO to the daily life of the employees on the floor.
Capturing the Production Line
What you see here is a selection of images focused mainly on the production lines. There is a certain rhythm and precision in a factory of this scale that I find fascinating to photograph. Capturing the interplay between high-tech machinery and the people who run it is at the heart of good factory photography.
More Than Just Machinery
Beyond the hardware, I also spent time on employee portraits and corporate imagery to help Forlabels tell their brand story. Whether it’s a high-speed printing press or a portrait of the leadership team, the aim was to create a clean, professional visual library that reflects the quality of work they do in the packaging industry.
