This collaboration with Mab Architects on the Acroview project is a perfect example of how architectural photography is a team effort. Having the Architect on-site for the art direction and styling allowed us to refine every frame to match the specific "five-star" hospitality vision they had for this penthouse.
Located in the heart of the vibrant Koukaki district on Veikou Street, this 90sqm apartment is designed specifically for high-end short-term rentals, with a focus on one thing: the breathtaking 12-meter glass facade overlooking the Acropolis.
Interior Photography for Hospitality: Acroview Penthouse by Mab Architects
Photographing a space designed for luxury hospitality requires a focus on the "visitor experience." For the Acroview apartment, the design challenge was maintaining a view of the Parthenon from every single corner—even from the bed.
Collaborative Art Direction
Working closely with Franky Antimisiaris during the shoot was essential. Together, we styled the shots to highlight the flow of the L-shaped layout. We spent a lot of time capturing the ingenious bathroom design, which acts as a glass-walled connector between the bedroom and the lounge, ensuring that the Athenian landmark remains the focal point regardless of where you are standing in the apartment.
Materials and Heritage
From an interior photography perspective, the textures in this project were a dream to capture. Franky and his team used materials that pay homage to Athenian heritage:
White Marble: A direct nod to the Parthenon.
Woven Wallpapers: Inspired by ancient Greek textiles.
Parquet Flooring: A romantic memory of mid-century Athenian apartments from the 1950s.
My goal was to use a mix of wide architectural shots and tight, detail-oriented frames to showcase how these elements balance each other to create a space that is both modern and deeply rooted in its history.
Specialized Architectural Media in Athens
Whether it’s a high-end short-term rental in Koukaki or a private residence on the coast, my work with architects like Mab is about more than just documentation. It’s about creating a visual narrative that sells a "lifestyle." By collaborating on-site with the designers, I ensure the final images meet the high standards of international hospitality publications and platforms.
